The Office of the Provost seeks a tenured faculty member with a strong scholarly record, a broad perspective on university affairs, excellent communication skills, the ability to work effectively as part of a team, and a demonstrated ability to lead in an academic setting to fill the position of Vice Provost for Undergraduate Education.  This is a full-time, 12-month position that reports directly to the Provost.  The individual holding this position should have wide experience with undergraduate education at UConn.

This individual is responsible for maintaining productive working relationships among the schools and colleges and between them and the Office of the Provost to strengthen undergraduate education, oversee the undergraduate aspects of the university’s accreditation, and lead the assessment of learning outcomes.

This individual is responsible for enhancing the quality and effectiveness of undergraduate education through oversight of the units within Undergraduate Education and Instruction: the Honors and Enrichment Programs, the Institute for Student Success, and the Institute for Teaching and Learning.  This individual is responsible for guiding General Education, enhancing and developing Living-Learning Communities and forwarding efforts to internationalize undergraduate education.  He or she will serve as the Provost’s liaison to the Division of Student Affairs.

In addition to these core responsibilities, the Vice Provost for Undergraduate Education participates in general policy discussions in the Office of the Provost and undertakes additional duties as assigned.
